The Experience

Live Music, Barbecue, Chile and Chili

From the mid-90s to 2019, this festival was known as Hot Chili Days, Cool Mountain nights. In 2021, under the Red River Events umbrella, we relaunched this boutique festival under the 8750' Festival branding. 8750' (pronounced eighty-seven fifty) is a nod to the elevation of Red River, NM. Great artists are featured across multiple venues - but will never overlap, so you don't ever have to decide what artist to watch! The festival kicks off with dinner and a concert lakeside at Bitter Creek Ranch. Each night wraps with music at the historic Motherlode Saloon. Music in Brandenburg Park starts on Friday alongside the best BBQ & chili cooks from across the Southwest will compete to prove their skills and compete for cash, prizes, and bragging rights.
