Festival Info & FAQs
What You Need to Know
If you can't find what you're looking for here or on our "Plan" page, please email hello@redriverevents.org and we'll get your question answered.
Is seating available?
-
Bitter Creek Ranch will have seating available. If you prefer to bring your own chairs we ask that you add them to the perimeter and don't rearrange the current seating.
-
Motherlode Saloon will have some limited chairs and bleacher seating available. If you need a seat, we encourage you to come early.
-
Brandenburg Park allows for chairs and blanket seating. A large tent is provided for shade and spots underneath it are claimed quickly. Personal chairs set anywhere in the park before Thursday will be removed. Chairs can be left overnight, however, Red River Events is not responsible or available to assist with lost or stolen chairs.
Where do I pick up my tickets?
Will call will move throughout the festival, but if you've purchased a ticket we'll send a detailed schedule of will call availability about a week before the festival starts. Once specific will call times are announced, we encourage you to pick up your wristbands early to avoid waiting in long lines or struggling with cell reception at Bitter Creek Ranch.
What about food?
Meals included with 3-day passes:
A brisket dinner will be served at Bitter Creek Ranch.
A breakfast is included with Bloody Mary Morning - sorry, you'll have to pay for the Bloody Mary!
We apologize, but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate special requests such as a separate vegetarian or allergen free meal and ticket prices will not be adjusted to reflect a declined meal.
Brandenburg Park
We'll have a variety of food vendors throughout the park to satisfy your cravings.
On Saturday, the competition cookers typically offer samples of what they've submitted to judges. You'll get to taste some of the best chili and barbecue around! Please be patient and understanding - when they're out, they're out. These talented competitors provide the samples at their own expense with the hopes of earning your vote in the People's Choice awards.
Is there an age limit?
All ages are welcome at both Bitter Creek Ranch and Brandenburg Park. The evening shows at Motherlode Saloon are 21 and over.
What can I bring into the park?
-
No beverages are allowed into the park. You may bring an empty water bottle and there are water stations in the park.
-
Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the park and must be kept on a leash at all times. *Dogs are not allowed at Bitter Creek Ranch or Motherlode Saloon*
-
The bar is cash only (at both Brandenburg Park and Bittercreek Ranch), so you should plan to hit one of the local ATMs before you head to the park. The entrance gate, many of the vendors and the merch stand will be able to process credit cards.
I want details about the music!
Tickets will go on sale in late Winter/early Spring and the line-up will be announced mid-Spring. Only 3-Day Passes will be on sale initially. Single-show tickets for Bitter Creek Ranch and the Motherlode Saloon, as well as single-day park tickets, will be available at a later date. We expect 3-Day Passes and single-show tickets for all evening shows to sell out in advance of the event, so don't wait to get yours!
The specifics of the schedule will not be announced until close to summer as we finalize our plans. For planning purposes, the events typically start in the evening on Thursday and then are all day and into the night on Friday and Saturday.
We are bringing you so much great music this year, we can't wait to share it with you!
Town Info
What's with the altitude talk?
At 8750' feet above sea level - we are really up there! Just about 50% higher than Denver.

The high altitude gives us stunning views and just about perfect weather! And for many of you, a much needed respite from the dog days of summer. August average high temperatures are in the mid 70s with it cooling off about 30 degrees overnight. Layers are the key to dressing successfully here.

If you're not accustomed to high elevations, it can take a few days to get used to it. You can start preparing before your trip up the mountain. Days before your incline make sure you are drinking plenty of water and continue to do so while you're here. Click here to read more about how to prepare. Also, please keep in mind that the higher up you are, the more UV exposure increases.

The altitude is really such a major part of what makes this place what it is. We're so fond of it, we named our festival after it.
Getting Around
The town has some great resources available to help you figure out how to get here.

Once you're here though, it's super easy to get around! Our whole town is a mile long and with Brandenburg Park's central location, it's easy to walk nearly anywhere. We have a free town shuttle called the Red River Miner's Transit that runs 7:30am to 5:00pm. Call 575-770-5959 to arrange pick-up.

You will need to drive up an unpaved forest service road to access Bitter Creek Ranch. More detailed directions will be sent to ticket holders in advance of the show. We encourage people to carpool.
I want to participate!
Head on over to the "Experience" page to learn more about how you can participate.

Can I get a refund on my ticket?
We will not be offering refunds or transfers of tickets under any circumstance. All ticket purchases are final. While we try to provide some protection from the elements, this is a rain or shine event.
